Kosher Travel Food
When you travel, food is an important part of your journey. Maintaining an observant lifestyle means having to sacrifice on good food.
The Challenge and options.
Should you take canned tuna and dried crackers matzos and corn and eat in the hotel room, first this is not what’s called a satisfying meal, a big part of the journey and experience is being able to have good food, for this reason a lot of people prefer to travel to destination like Israel where wherever you go you could find good kosher dining, in eastern Europe where a lot of people go to see their ancestors place of living heritage there is in mo0st big cities kosher restaurants like in Krakow or Paris Amsterdam, however it is difficult for a person as a guest to find out the reliability of the kashrus and owner of an establishment, even in ones local town it is sometimes difficult.
So the next option is taking frozen food, and rewarming it at the hotel where you stay, a lot of travelers where quite happy with this option, however they had lots of issues when actually warming up the food the concierge (hotel worker) unwrapped before putting it in non kosher microwave so spoiled the food or not all food tastes so good after rewarming it,
Another option is bottling yourself, it is a lot of work but the food usually tastes much better than from frozen also you do not need to worry where to keep it while you travel since no freezer is required , it usually means canning in bottles with the special pot to get the require red temperature, ( Avery good source for food safety and canning is USDAweb site) soups are best in this way, and also you must can with liquid that means that you could only do food entrees that have a liquid (most food will not get spoiled when you add water or oil).
